I don’t understand why Republicans don’t like sex or gay people and why they don’t respect anyone else’s views. So here’s the simple breakdown for Republicans:

    • Sex is fun, sex feels good, sex is healthy, sex can be done smartly and safely. Everything in life has some risk; managing sexual safety is no more difficult than managing anything else. Why not just get the facts and enjoy some good sex?
    • If you’re not gay you don’t have to have gay sex or have a gay marriage, so why do you care?
    • Since nobody is forcing you to have sex or to be gay why do you disrespect the views of others who like sex or who are gay?

It just comes down to respecting others and staying out their business. Get it?

Hi everyone, the Opensexual web site is going on hiatus. I’m now posting links to news and articles of interest on the Opensexual Twitter feed and Facebook page — please follow us there and join the conversation.

Like everyone else, the volunteers who were writing here are dealing with economic issues, unexpected unemployment, looking for new jobs, moving, starting new relationships, ending old relationships, fighting for marriage equality, taking care of loved ones and all of the usual life stuff here in our little sex-positive community. We’ve decided to shut down the multiple-blog site that we used to run here. I’ve removed the posts by the other contributing authors and have left a few of my posts which I hope may be useful as an archive.

Thanks for your past support and your future interest as we transition to a new discussion model over on the social networking sites. So far the feedback has been positive. There’s still a lot of information to distribute and a lot of work to be done fighting for sexual freedom and relationship rights. See you there!

    Happy Pride everyone!

The celebration just got underway here at Civic Center in San Francisco! Tomorrow is the parade, starting at 10:30am, and then more celebration the rest of the day.

Look up at Twin Peaks, the pink triangle is there! Good feelings are palpable today!

  • Let's not use fewer words for sex information

    opensexual 6:19 pm on June 6, 2009 | 0 Permalink | Reply

Came across this on the cover of a glossy magazine that caters to younger women:

100 Sex Questions: We Answer Every Dirty Thing You Want to Know — in 20 words or Less

sex-questions-too-few-words1Okay, setting aside their inability to actually construct the sentence properly (”fewer” not “less”), do we really want to have sex information provided in the fewest words possible?

How about, “… with full explanations you could actually learn something from to be a better lover?”

I know, too much to ask, even though it’s so, so little…
